I wanted to take the time to highlight Juan the Elortero who rides his bike throughout the communities of Pomona selling elote, raspados, and more. My Spanish isn’t that great, however, I was able to speak to Juan and ask him a couple of questions.

Juan is a Pomona resident and has been living in Pomona for 6 years. He has also been working as an elotero for the last 6 years. Juan explained most of his family is still in Mexico and will join him here once he has saved enough money. Juan also explained during the summer months the raspados are the best selling item, although the corn isn’t too far behind.
