Season One Episode 2: The Defenders of Justice

In this episode, I meet with the Defenders of Justice, a slate of four women candidates for judge for L.A.'s Superior Court. Our conversation was centered on the court system, its history of operation, and how each candidate has maneuvered within this system that has been in place, with few changes, for a very long time. In this conversation, each candidate described how they plan to work to change the court system for the better. All were united in their desire to reduce the revolving door of imprisonment and incarceration.

Season One Episode 1: Carolyn Jiyoung Park - Candidate for LA Superior Court

The general election is just weeks ahead, and you may have received your ballots in the mail. It is important that we as voters take the time to sit down and study who the candidates are and what they may have already achieved before their candidacy, as track records are crucial when electing someone to a leadership position.

In this first ever episode of The Pomonan Podcast, founder Julian Lucas had the opporttunity to interview Carolyn "Jiyoung" Park, candidate for the Los Angeles County Superior Court Office No. 118. Jiyoung Park is a civil rights attorney, former union attorney, tenant rights lawyer, and former Democratic Party delegate from Los Angeles County. She is the progressive choice for a more fair justice system within the Los Angeles courts. Park is also a part of Defenders of Justice slate.
